The many extremes of a land that is at one rough yet generous color themselves with blue in the daytime and red at sunset; those same extremes relive in the ebony skin of the woman and the colors of hes garments. The lion and the turtle nearby share with her the virtues of strength and sturdiness that allow her to deal with the difficult living conditions in her country.

7047 - Clock - North America - 26x46 cm.
The rudder that the figure holds in her right hand is a symbol that binds the New World to the Old. The crown recalls the headgear adorning the far more famous Statue of Liberty in New York, in a selfsame ideological and symbolic statement of freedom as an absolute, non-negotiable value. Clear decorative references to the lush forests of Canada are red maple leaf and the figure alongside of the beaver, nature and ingenuity of modern man. -
7048 Clock - South America - 26x46 cm.
The vibrant ethnic diversity of the peoples of South America stands out in its representation through the colors of the clothes and the lushness of the plentiful fruit gathered at the foot of woman whose features are full and soft. The wealth of pre-Columbian civilizations comes to life in full in the precious metals with which the jewelry and ornaments are forged.

7049 - Clock - Asia - 26x46 cm.
The largest of all continents preserves the colors and traditions of many different ancient cultures. The bright colors of the clothes and the jewels that adorn them all recall the charm of the Indian woman, while the elephant is a symbol of the wildlife of this land. The fan and the rich floral ornament, however, evoke the haunting beauty of the woman from the Land of the Rising Sun. -
7050 - Clock - Europa - 26x47 cm.
In decorative imagery Philosophy, Painting and Science are the cultural references that add richness to an androgynous figure: here the pre-Christian and Hellenistic mythological reference is to the goddess of wisdom, Athena. The helmet, the eagle and the body armor convey the strength and pride of the Old Continent, home of the classical World with its wealth of history and its traditions. -
7051 - Clock - Oceania - 26x45 cm.
The semi-nakedness and lack of ornaments on the sculptural figure are a clear reference to a continent that is yet young; a land still unspoiled and largely unexploited. The furs and weapons adorning the female figure hint at the Aboriginal culture, of which she is a child.
